Our friends at Bandit know our story. They know our motto “embrace chaos” is an ode to our pandemic start. Northeast Track Club started in June 2020. Against all odds, we brought people together during a time that was otherwise dark and uncertain. And here we are today, 300 strong every Tuesday. We also believe that small change - like your daily run or the people you associate with - creates ripple effects that cause big impact: the Chaos Theory.

“It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing

can cause a typhoon halfway around the world.”- Chaos Theory

Chaos Theory connects two points that are familiar but might otherwise be seen as incompatible. As everyone knows, at NETC, new, amateur, veteran, and elite runners share a space, cross the same paths, and celebrate each other’s wins. Our logo of wonky rings represents the sum of our parts: our circles are irregular and beautifully imperfect.

From there, Bandit’s lead artists and designers, Ardith Singh and Ale Iaccarino took our motto of “embrace chaos” to the drawing board and created magic for us. They described this capsule as follows:

“We leaned into a visual representation of Chaos Theory for the graphic inspiration. Using fine line work undulating across the body, we created a sense of movement on the silhouette (reminiscent of Dutch designer, Iris Van Herpen). Though the lines themselves are seemingly delicate, together they are dynamic and powerful. The color is grounded in an unexpected neutral, a rich olive tone, popped with touches of acidic brights. The warmth and pinky corals add a third layer of tension.”

We expect orders to be in by early June in time for the Better Your Mile 2024 finale mid-June. Yes, it’s early. But what better way to start thinking about how you want to train heading into the new year. The BYM finale is the most exciting night of the year at NETC. The lights go on and the heats get faster. The energy goes up. Every year our runners get faster—2023 was the first time we offered a 4:30 heat and we know next year will be no different. And beyond that, BYM is just the unofficial start of race season—leading right into the chaos of Fall marathons.
